Notes for using the Interspectrum FTIR with Essential FTIR.

The Interspectrum FTIR instruments now usually ship with a VCSEL laser, which has a laser wavelength of 0.6664 microns. The default laser frequency used in Essential FTIR is that of the HeNe laser, 0.63299 microns. If your instrument has the VCSEL laser, please make sure the laser frequency is set to the correct value, which is nominally 0.6664 microns.

The correct laser wavelength for your instrument should be on the CD that accompanied your instrument:

On the Interspectrum Data Collection tool, click on the 'Process' tab, then click the 'Advanced' button:

Change the settings as shown:

This only has to be done once. Essential FTIR will remember the setting.
